벧전3:9-12
9: 악을 악으로, 욕을 욕으로 갚지 말고 도리어 복을 빌라 이를 위하여 너희가 부르심을 받았으니 이는 복을 이어받게 하려 하심이라 10: 그러므로 생명을 사랑하고 좋은 날 보기를 원하는 자는 혀를 금하여 악한 말을 그치며 그 입술로 거짓을 말하지 말고 11: 악에서 떠나 선을 행하고 화평을 구하며 그것을 따르라 12: 주의 눈은 의인을 향하시고 그의 귀는 의인의 간구에 기울이시되 주의 얼굴은 악행하는 자들을 대하시느니라 하였느니라

I Peter 3:9-12
9: Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. 10: For, "Whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech. 11: He must turn from evil and do good; he must seek peace and pursue it. 12: For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."
