로마서 11:2-6
2 하나님이 그 미리 아신 자기 백성을 버리지 아니하셨나니 너희가 성경이 엘리야를 가리켜 말한 것을 알지 못하느냐 그가 이스라엘을 하나님께 고발하되 3 주여 그들이 주의 선지자들을 죽였으며 주의 제단들을 헐어 버렸고 나만 남았는데 내 목숨도 찾나이다 하니 4 그에게 하신 대답이 무엇이냐 내가 나를 위하여 바알에게 무릎을 꿇지 아니한 사람 칠천 명을 남겨 두었다 하셨으니 5 그런즉 이와 같이 지금도 은혜로 택하심을 따라 남은 자가 있느니라 6 만일 은혜로 된 것이면 행위로 말미암지 않음이니 그렇지 않으면 은혜가 은혜 되지 못하느니라

Romans 11:2-6
2 God did not reject his people, whom he foreknew. Don't you know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijah--how he appealed to God against Israel: 3 "Lord, they have killed your prophets and torn down your altars; I am the only one left, and they are trying to kill me"? 4 And what was God's answer to him? "I have reserved for myself seven thousand who have not bowed the knee to Baal." 5 So too, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace. 6 And if by grace, then it is no longer by works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace.

로마서 9:27-32
27 또 이사야가 이스라엘에 관하여 외치되 이스라엘 자손들의 수가 비록 바다의 모래 같을지라도 남은 자만 구원을 받으리니 28 주께서 땅 위에서 그 말씀을 이루고 속히 시행하시리라 하셨느니라 29 또한 이사야가 미리 말한 바 만일 만군의 주께서 우리에게 씨를 남겨 두지 아니하셨더라면 우리가 소돔과 같이 되고 고모라와 같았으리로다 함과 같으니라 30 그런즉 우리가 무슨 말을 하리요 의를 따르지 아니한 이방인들이 의를 얻었으니 곧 믿음에서 난 의요 31 의의 법을 따라간 이스라엘은 율법에 이르지 못하였으니 32 어찌 그러하냐 이는 그들이 믿음을 의지하지 않고 행위를 의지함이라 부딪칠 돌에 부딪쳤느니라

Romans 9:27-32
27 Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: "Though the number of the Israelites be like the sand by the sea, only the remnant will be saved. 28 For the Lord will carry out his sentence on earth with speed and finality." 29 It is just as Isaiah said previously: "Unless the Lord Almighty had left us descendants, we would have become like Sodom, we would have been like Gomorrah." 30 What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained it, a righteousness that is by faith; 31 but Israel, who pursued a law of righteousness, has not attained it. 32 Why not? Because they pursued it not by faith but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the "stumbling stone."
