누가복음 22장 24~30절
24 또 그들 사이에 그 중 누가 크냐 하는 다툼이 난지라 25 예수께서 이르시되 이방인의 임금들은 그들을 주관하며 그 집권자들은 은인이라 칭함을 받으나 26 너희는 그렇지 않을지니 너희 중에 큰 자는 젊은 자와 같고 다스리는 자는 섬기는 자와 같을지니라 27 앉아서 먹는 자가 크냐 섬기는 자가 크냐 앉아서 먹는 자가 아니냐 그러나 나는 섬기는 자로 너희 중에 있노라 28 너희는 나의 모든 시험 중에 항상 나와 함께 한 자들인즉 29 내 아버지께서 나라를 내게 맡기신 것 같이 나도 너희에게 맡겨 30 너희로 내 나라에 있어 내 상에서 먹고 마시며 또는 보좌에 앉아 이스라엘 열두 지파를 다스리게 하려 하노라
24 A dispute also arose among them, as to which of them was to be regarded as the greatest. 25 And he said to them, "The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them, and those in authority over them are called benefactors. 26 But not so with you. Rather, let the greatest among you become as the youngest, and the leader as one who serves. 27 For who is the greater, one who reclines at table or one who serves? Is it not the one who reclines at table? But I am among you as the one who serves. 28 "You are those who have stayed with me in my trials, 29 and I assign to you, as my Father assigned to me, a kingdom, 30 that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
베드로후서 3:9-10
9 주의 약속은 어떤 이들이 더디다고 생각하는 것 같이 더딘 것이 아니라 오직 주께서는 너희를 대하여 오래 참으사 아무도 멸망하지 아니하고 다 회개하기에 이르기를 원하시느니라 10 그러나 주의 날이 도둑 같이 오리니 그 날에는 하늘이 큰 소리로 떠나가고 물질이 뜨거운 불에 풀어지고 땅과 그 중에 있는 모든 일이 드러나리로다
9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.
롬9:22-24
22 만일 하나님이 그의 진노를 보이시고 그의 능력을 알게 하고자 하사 멸하기로 준비된 진노의 그릇을 오래 참으심으로 관용하시고 23 또한 영광 받기로 예비하신 바 긍휼의 그릇에 대하여 그 영광의 풍성함을 알게 하고자 하셨을지라도 무슨 말을 하리요
22 What if God, choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath-prepared for destruction? 23 What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory- 24 even us, whom he also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles?
