히2:14-18
14 자녀들은 혈과 육에 속하였으매 그도 또한 같은 모양으로 혈과 육을 함께 지니심은 죽음을 통하여 죽음의 세력을 잡은 자 곧 마귀를 멸하시며
15 또 죽기를 무서워하므로 한평생 매여 종 노릇 하는 모든 자들을 놓아 주려 하심이니
16 이는 확실히 천사들을 붙들어 주려 하심이 아니요 오직 아브라함의 자손을 붙들어 주려 하심이라
17 그러므로 그가 범사에 형제들과 같이 되심이 마땅하도다 이는 하나님의 일에 자비하고 신실한 대제사장이 되어 백성의 죄를 속량하려 하심이라
18 그가 시험을 받아 고난을 당하셨은즉 시험 받는 자들을 능히 도우실 수 있느니라
14 Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery. 16 For surely it is not angels that he helps, but he helps the offspring of Abraham. 17 Therefore he had to be made like his brothers in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. 18 For because he himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.

롬8:3-8
3 율법이 육신으로 말미암아 연약하여 할 수 없는 그것을 하나님은 하시나니 곧 죄로 말미암아 자기 아들을 죄 있는 육신의 모양으로 보내어 육신에 죄를 정하사
4 육신을 따르지 않고 그 영을 따라 행하는 우리에게 율법의 요구가 이루어지게 하려 하심이니라
5 육신을 따르는 자는 육신의 일을, 영을 따르는 자는 영의 일을 생각하나니
6 육신의 생각은 사망이요 영의 생각은 생명과 평안이니라
7 육신의 생각은 하나님과 원수가 되나니 이는 하나님의 법에 굴복하지 아니할 뿐 아니라 할 수도 없음이라
8 육신에 있는 자들은 하나님을 기쁘시게 할 수 없느니라
3 For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin,[a] he condemned sin in the flesh, 4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. 5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. 6 For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. 7 For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. 8 Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

빌1:20-26
20 나의 간절한 기대와 소망을 따라 아무 일에든지 부끄러워하지 아니하고 지금도 전과 같이 온전히 담대하여 살든지 죽든지 내 몸에서 그리스도가 존귀하게 되게 하려 하나니
21 이는 내게 사는 것이 그리스도니 죽는 것도 유익함이라
22 그러나 만일 육신으로 사는 이것이 내 일의 열매일진대 무엇을 택해야 할는지 나는 알지 못하노라
23 내가 그 둘 사이에 끼었으니 차라리 세상을 떠나서 그리스도와 함께 있는 것이 훨씬 더 좋은 일이라 그렇게 하고 싶으나
24 내가 육신으로 있는 것이 너희를 위하여 더 유익하리라
25 내가 살 것과 너희 믿음의 진보와 기쁨을 위하여 너희 무리와 함께 거할 이것을 확실히 아노니
26 내가 다시 너희와 같이 있음으로 그리스도 예수 안에서 너희 자랑이 나로 말미암아 풍성하게 하려 함이라
20 as it is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full courage now as always Christ will be honored in my body, whether by life or by death. 21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. 22 If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. 23 I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better. 24 But to remain in the flesh is more necessary on your account. 25 Convinced of this, I know that I will remain and continue with you all, for your progress and joy in the faith, 26 so that in me you may have ample cause to glory in Christ Jesus, because of my coming to you again.
